10 Lessons From 10 Years

Date
April 22, 2026
Time
12:00 PM CT
Duration
45 Minutes

Ten years ago, TestFit began as an idea between two college buddies. Clifton, a former architecture student, believed there had to be a better way to approach feasibility. He pulled Ryan out of his cushy life in game development and convinced him to build something that would revolutionize real estate development. What followed was a decade of product bets, hard lessons, funding milestones, leadership strain, and steady growth.

In this anniversary webinar, Clifton and Ryan reflect on the journey in their own words. They’ll walk through 10 lessons learned over 10 years — from building a product that had to be dramatically better than what existed, to defining roles, growing a team, navigating governance, and protecting their founding partnership.

This is a conversation about endurance as much as innovation. About what changes as a company grows — and what shouldn’t.

Whether you’ve been building with TestFit for years or are just getting to know us, this is a chance to understand what a decade of persistence has shaped — in the product and in the people behind it.

Clifton Harness loves to build—buildings & now companies. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Architecture. Soon after joining a real estate development company as an architect, Clifton started working with college roommate Ryan Griege after hours to innovate deal processes, which soon grew into TestFit. Clifton lives in Dallas with his wife Annalise, children Savannah and Wells, and his golden doodle, Brinkley.

Ryan has been writing code and making games since he was given his first TI-84 graphing calculator in junior high.

In early 2016, he was pulled kicking and screaming out of his comfy game development career into the tumultuous world of startups, architecture, and real estate. When not staring blankly at a whiteboard filled with mysterious shapes and strange mathematical symbols, Ryan likes to rant against modern web-based software and read books in their physical form.

Reduce Risk. Increase Potential.
