Layouts as Proposals
A layout is a proposed change to a shared design. Like a pull request, it should show what is changing, what it adds or removes, and which requirements it addresses.
Review the change, not just the new picture
Two rectangular rooms, fixed 16 ft depth and two equal door openings. This is a geometric proposal/diff, not a claimed merge into a live project. Review topics are counted only when their dimensions actually change.
Review can then focus on consequences. A revised arrangement may improve an adjacency while changing circulation, area, or coordination with other systems. Making those effects visible helps collaborators decide whether to incorporate the change.
The workflow depends on clear criteria, reliable model information, and a record of decisions; it supports design leadership and project approvals rather than replacing them.
